Lemon Two

Lemon Two Shellac is a machine-made shellac grade manufactured using the heat process. Seedlac is melted with controlled steam heat and purified through mechanical filtration under hydraulic pressure. The filtered molten lac is rolled into long sheets and broken into standardized flakes. Compared to Lemon One, Lemon Two has slightly higher impurity tolerance and a deeper color, making it a more cost-effective choice for general-purpose industrial applications. Its golden-amber hue and excellent natural adhesion properties make it suitable for surface coatings, finishes, and pharmaceutical uses where slightly lower purity is acceptable.

Key Features

  • Enhanced Affordability: Designed with slightly relaxed purity parameters to offer economic value for bulk or large-scale applications.

  • Rich Amber Appearance: Deeper yellow-brown tones suitable for rustic or natural finishes.

  • Balanced Film Properties: Good gloss, flexibility, and moisture barrier properties.

  • Naturally Sourced: Derived from renewable sources; biodegradable and safe for multiple regulated applications.

  • Customizable Parameters: Flow, acid value, and polymerization settings can be tailored to formulation needs.

Applications

1. Wood Finishing

  • Popular in cost-conscious furniture and panel industries.

  • Used for mid-grade wood coatings where rich tone and finish are preferred.

2. Food Industry

  • Used in lower-cost food glazes and coatings for candies and produce with moderate aesthetic demands.

3. Pharmaceuticals

  • Suitable for tablet and capsule coatings where a higher impurity tolerance is acceptable.

  • Functions as a binding or glossing agent in less sensitive formulations.

4. Varnishes and Printing Inks

  • Acts as a resin binder and gloss enhancer in economical varnishes and inks.

  • Used in packaging-grade coatings and primers.

5. Artisanal and Craft Finishes

  • Employed in handmade or traditional crafts where color and film behavior matter more than purity.

6. Agricultural Coatings

  • Used in seed coating technologies as a natural polymer for encapsulation.
